History
On 5 March 1952 Jamaica issued a two-value commemorative set for the 1st Caribbean Boy Scout Jamboree at Briggs Park. Domfil catalogues the pair as 952.1–952.2 under «1st Caribbean Jamboree»: 2 pence map of Central America with Scout emblem (Scott JM 150 / Michel JM 153 / Domfil 952.1) and 6 pence globe and island map for the jamboree (Scott JM 151 / Michel JM 154 / Domfil 952.2).
Designed by C. de Souza and printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson in typography, with comb perforations 13½ × 13 and 13 × 13½ depending on orientation, watermark multiple Crown and script C A. SOSOW records print runs of 2,864,153 (2d) and 899,723 (6d), and validity for postage until 31 March 1958.
This is a pure Scouts-on-Stamps commemorative for the first regional Caribbean Boy Scout Jamboree hosted in Jamaica — map-and-emblem designs rather than a semi-postal or private label. Both values are catalogued here in face-value order (sheet SCOUT-1952-JAM-01.1 / 01.2).
