History
A commemorative label of the New York Estonian Scout Troop (New Yorgi Eesti Skautlipkond), inscribed with the years 1951 and 1961 for the troop's tenth anniversary. The central emblem shows a Viking longship under the name VIIKING and the initials NY; a Scout fleur-de-lis and the three-finger Scout sign flank the device. The bottom bar carries the Estonian troop name in full.
The label has no face value and was never a postage stamp of the United States or of Estonia. It belongs to the Estonian Scout diaspora in New York, issued to mark a decade of the Viiking troop rather than any postal administration. Sources give perforation 12¼ and size about 42 × 30 mm.
