History
Afghanistan issued stamps at Kabul on 30 August 1962 for Women's Day. The Scout theme appears on the two airmail values that show a Girl Guide giving the salute (100 and 175 puls), labelled Scout on the stamps. A commemorative souvenir sheet gathers four values of the issue — traditional costumes at 25 and 50 puls and the two Guide airmails — around a floral panel under the heading Journée des Femmes 1962, total face 350 puls.
Print runs are given as 20,000 of each airmail and 15,000 souvenir sheets. Austrian State Printing Office; photogravure; perforated 11½ × 12.
