History
The Central African Republic issued a 50-franc commemorative on 14 October 1963 inscribed JEUNESSE PIONNIERE. Pierre Béquet's recess engraving shows a young man with a pickaxe and a young woman with a machete standing before a multi-storey building and a radiant sun, in blue and brown. The margins carry his signature and the CHAIX imprint of Chaix-Desfossés. Comb perforation 12½. Imperforate copies exist.
