History
The Bahamas issued two commemoratives at Nassau on 1 September 1967 for the diamond jubilee of world Scouting (1907–1967). Richard Granger Barrett designed the set; Joh. Enschedé printed it by photogravure in panes of fifty on paper watermarked St. Edward's Crown and CA multiple, comb perforated 14½ × 13. Each value had a print run of 1,500,000. Copies of the 3 c are also known with a sideways-left watermark.
Both stamps share a black upper band with BAHAMAS and circular portraits of Queen Elizabeth II (left) and Lord Baden-Powell (right), over a yellow lower field inscribed 1907 DIAMOND JUBILEE OF WORLD SCOUTING 1967. The 3 c centres the Seal of the Bahamas — a sailing ship under a crown within the motto EXPULSIS PIRATIS RESTITUTA COMMERCIA — over a faint globe grid, with a small Scout fleur-de-lis at lower left. The 15 c reverses the emphasis: a large red-and-gold Scout fleur-de-lis with a BOY SCOUTS scroll over the same globe grid, and a small shield with the Bahamas seal at lower left.
