History
Ghana issued three stamps at Accra on 18 September 1967 for the 50th anniversary of the Boy Scout movement in Ghana (the former Gold Coast). Joh. Enschedé printed the set by photogravure. The stamps measure 43 × 26 mm and were released both comb perforated 14½ × 13¼ and imperforate. They were also sold in panes of thirty with plain selvage and in miniature sheets of twelve with an ornamental border.
The designs show two Scouts at a campfire before a large Scout fleur-de-lis (4 nP); a Scout on the hike with staff, pack and neckerchief, the design dated AUG 1967 (10 nP); and a portrait of Robert Baden-Powell with the Scout emblem (12½ nP). An imperforate souvenir sheet joins the three designs in one horizontal row within a decorative margin illustrating Scouting scenes, with a total face value of 26.50 nP.
