History

On 25 May 1967 Niger issued three commemorative stamps at Niamey for the 12th World Scout Jamboree held in Idaho, United States. The French Stamp Printing Office in Paris printed the set in recess, comb perforated 13. The issue was withdrawn from sale on 1 June 1968.

The 30 f (vertical, 25 × 40 mm) shows Scouts seated around a camp-fire, with curling smoke, tents among pines, a Scout flag at left, and the jamboree emblem at upper right. The 45 f (horizontal, 40 × 25 mm) shows two Scouts flanking the 1967 World Jamboree emblem — one with a torch, the other with a pack. The 80 f (vertical, 25 × 40 mm) shows a Scout kneeling by a cooking pot hung over a camp-fire, with tents and a Scout flag.

Cécile Guillame designed the 30 f and 80 f; Michel Monvoisin and Cécile Guillame designed the 45 f. An imperforate set is also recorded.
