History
Uruguay issued a 250 peso commemorative at Montevideo on 21 January 1974 for the First International Scout Sports Games. Angel Medina designed the stamp; the Imprenta Nacional in Montevideo printed it by offset lithography in panes of 50 on paper watermarked with the sun and the letters ROU, comb perforated 12. Two hundred and fifty thousand copies were printed. The sheet imprint reads Imp. Nacional 1974.
The design shows three interlocking green rings on purple: a Scout fleur-de-lis, a Scout with a torch before a globe, and the year 1974. It is inscribed PRIMEROS JUEGOS DEPORTIVOS INTERNACIONALES LOS SCOUTS, URUGUAY CORREOS, and 250 $.
