History
The Maldives issued three overprinted commemoratives and a souvenir sheet at Malé on 26 July 1975 for the 14th World Scout Jamboree, Nordjamb 75, held in Norway from 29 July to 7 August 1975. The overprint, in black, reads 14th Boy Scout Jamboree / July 29 – August 7, 1975. It was applied to the rufiyaa values of the 1973 set for the First World Conference of Boy Scouts in Africa: those stamps remain inscribed with that conference heading, REPUBLIC OF MALDIVES at the left, and the World Scout emblem.
The 1 rufiyaa shows Scouts giving first aid on a beach beside a small boat. The 2 rufiyaa shows Scouts hammering and painting a timber frame. The 3 rufiyaa shows two Scouts bandaging a white goat. The souvenir sheet, 101 × 78 mm, carries a 5 rufiyaa stamp of Scouts around a green plant, in an olive margin with two hiking figures. Maxim Shamir designed the underlying stamps; Format International lithographed them, comb perforated 15, 43 × 25 mm.
