Saint George on horseback slaying the dragon; Schutzpatron aller Pfadfinder
Series history
The Federal Republic of Germany issued a 10 pfennig commemorative at Bonn on 22 April 1961 in honour of Scouting. It remained valid for postage until 31 December 1962.
Professor Ege designed and Harald Braband engraved the stamp: Saint George on horseback thrusting his spear into the dragon, with DEUTSCHE BUNDESPOST at the left and SCHUTZPATRON ALLER PFADFINDER · ST. GEORG at the right. The printing is dark green recess.
Bundesdruckerei printed thirty million copies in panes of fifty on watermarked paper (multiple DBP and rosettes), perforated 14.
