Series history
Paraguay issued a 0.30 guaraní stamp on 3 June 1968 as part of a nine-value set inscribed CENTENARIO DE LA EPOPEYA NACIONAL DE 1864–1870. The horizontal design reproduces two earlier Paraguayan stamps side by side: on the left, the brown 0.10 g homage to Boy Scouts showing a scout sounding a bugle beside tents; on the right, a green 0.50 g stamp of the Discobolus with the Olympic rings for Helsinki 1952. The frame reads CORREO DEL PARAGUAY with face value G/. 0.30.
Only this 0.30 g value of the set carries a scouting subject, through the stamp-on-stamp reproduction of the bugler design. De La Rue de Colombia printed the stamp by offset lithography; size about 50 × 40 mm; comb perforation 13¾ × 14¼. Specimen copies overprinted MUESTRA are also recorded. The postal status of the issue is disputed in the specialist literature.
