Scout in uniform blowing a bugle, with the Japanese flag and a fleur-de-lis. The bugler is Kazuaki Makino of Shizuoka Troop 26.
Series history
Japan issued a 15 yen commemorative on 2 August 1971, at Tokyo and other cities, for the 13th World Scout Jamboree at Asagiri Heights, Shizuoka, whose slogan was For Understanding. Saburo Watanabe designed a Scout in uniform blowing a bugle — Kazuaki Makino, a Senior Scout of Shizuoka Troop 26 — with the Japanese flag and a fleur-de-lis. The Government Printing Bureau of the Ministry of Finance printed 28,000,000 copies by photogravure in panes of twenty, comb perforated 13½. Specimen stamps with the みほん (mihon) overprint also exist.
