Series history
Mali issued a 200 franc airmail commemorative at Bamako on 27 March 1972 for the International Seminar of World Scouting held in Cotonou that month. Jacques Combet designed and engraved four hands of different colours gripping a staff topped with a red World Scout flag, with camp and village scenes in bands behind; the stamp is inscribed REPUBLIQUE DU MALI, POSTE AERIENNE, COTONOU - MARS 1972 and SEMINAIRE INTERNATIONAL DU SCOUTISME MONDIAL. The French Stamp Printing Office printed it by recess, comb perforated 13.
