Series history
Morocco issued a 0,40 dirham commemorative on 26 September 1978 for the Pan-Arab Scout festivities at Rabat. The stamp is lettered FESTIVITES SCOUTES PANARABES AU MAROC / RABAT 1978 and ROYAUME DU MAROC, with المملكة المغربية and a Arabic heading naming the Arab Scout festivals in Morocco and Rabat 1978. The designer’s name IKKEN appears at lower left.
A stylized green tree stands before a large red sun; an orange bird flies at left, a red tent and a Scout badge (yellow fleur-de-lis on red, green star, blue reef knot) sit at the foot of the tree.
Ikken designed the stamp. Heraclio Fournier of Vitoria printed it by photogravure, 30 × 40 mm, comb perforated 13¾ × 13, in panes of 25. Two hundred and three thousand copies were printed.
