Series history

Nepal issued a single commemorative at Kathmandu on 24 August 1979 for the International Year of the Child. K. K. Karmacharya designed the stamp; the India Security Press printed it by photogravure in ochre brown, comb perforated 14, without watermark, measuring 29 × 33.5 mm. Two million were issued. The stamp is inscribed रु १ and R. 1, नेपाल vertically at the right, and IYC 1979 NEPAL at the foot. At left is the International Year of the Child emblem. A line of children in Scout and Guide uniform stands before a flag.
