A yellow map of Gabon on a green and blue ground carries a brown Scout sign and the motto PRÊT À SERVIR on a shield. Lettered RÉPUBLIQUE GABONAISE, 75F, LE SCOUTISME GABONAIS AU SERVICE DU DEVELOPPEMENT NATIONAL, POSTES, ABIDJAN, 4e CONGRES PANAFRICAIN DU SCOUTISME - Août 1981. A white fleur-de-lis sits at lower right. Signed O.BAILLAIS and DELRIEU.
Series history
Gabon issued a 75-franc commemorative at Libreville on 16 July 1981 for the 4th Pan-African Scout Congress at Abidjan. The stamp is lettered RÉPUBLIQUE GABONAISE, 75F, LE SCOUTISME GABONAIS AU SERVICE DU DEVELOPPEMENT NATIONAL, POSTES, ABIDJAN, 4e CONGRES PANAFRICAIN DU SCOUTISME - Août 1981. A yellow map of Gabon on a green and blue ground carries a brown Scout sign and the motto PRÊT À SERVIR; a white fleur-de-lis sits at lower right. Signed O.BAILLAIS and DELRIEU.
Odette Baillais designed the stamp. Delrieu of Paris printed it by offset lithography, comb perforated 12½, 28 × 48 mm, in panes of 25. The stamp also exists imperforate.
