History

On 5 June 1972 Grenada overprinted the previous year’s 13th World Scout Jamboree stamps AIR MAIL, reading up in black. G. Vasarhelyi designed the four pairs: Canada and France (5 cents), West Germany and the United States (35 cents), Australia and Japan (50 cents), and Grenada and Great Britain (75 cents). Each stamp is inscribed 13th INTERNATIONAL SCOUT JAMBOREE / JAPAN — AUGUST 1971 and GRENADA, with a gold fleur-de-lis and a grey panel holding the jamboree shield and a spray of cherry blossom. Format International printed the designs in lithography, comb perforated 11.
