Series history
Eight perforated commemorative labels for the Taiwan provincial district jamboree — 台灣省分區大露營 — of the Boy Scouts of China in Republic of China Year 46 (1957). They carry no face value and no postal validity.
Every label is headed 中國童子軍 and footed 中華民國四十六年 / 台灣省分區大露營紀念. Four designs show a Scout with a staff in different attitudes; four show campcraft — a campfire with cooking pot, a sundial, an A-frame tent, and a lashed washbowl rack. Each pair of vertical slogans names a Scout or civic precept of the period.
The General Association of the Scouts of China had reorganised in Taiwan in 1950 after the interruption of 1949; the third National Jamboree had been held at Cheng Ching Lake, Kaohsiung, in 1956. These labels mark a provincial district camp of the following year, not a national jamboree. Our sources give no exact camp dates, printer, or quantity. Domfil does not list the set.
