Series history

Haiti overprinted three Courvoisier airmail stamps and a matching souvenir sheet for the 18th World Scout Conference in Lisbon (20–24 September 1961). The black overprint reads «18e CONFÉRENCE INTERNATIONALE DU SCOUTISME MONDIAL, LISBONNE / SEPTEMBRE 1961», adds a fleur-de-lis and a +0.25 surcharge, and was applied in photogravure by Courvoisier S.A. of La Chaux-de-Fonds. The singles are perforated 11¾; the souvenir sheet is imperforate and carries three values (50 c, 1 G and 1.50 G) in a pane headed «AÉROPORT INTERNATIONAL / PORT-AU-PRINCE». Issue date 30 September 1961. Printing: 25,000 of each stamp and 2,000 souvenir sheets.
