Series history

Egypt marked the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Egyptian Girl Guides Association with a 10 millième stamp issued in Cairo on 22 February 1962. The blue design shows a Girl Guide in uniform giving the three-finger salute beside the Guide trefoil; inside the emblem appear the United Arab Republic flag and the motto Be Prepared in Arabic. The face is inscribed UAR and 10M, with Girl Guides Day noted in Arabic at the top and the year 1962 at lower right.

Two million copies were printed. Designer M. Badr Bahgat; Survey Department; photogravure; perforated 13 × 13½; watermark United Arab Republic in Roman and Arabic letters. An imperforate printing is also recorded.
