Series history
The Republic of Korea marked the fortieth anniversary of Korean Scouting with two 4-won stamps issued in Seoul on 5 October 1962. Each design shows the green Korean scout fleur-de-lis with tiger motif against the national flag, and a campground of tents below. Matching imperforate souvenir sheets — one for each stamp design — were issued the same day on granite paper watermarked with the Korean postal emblem.
Print runs are given as 300,000 of each stamp and 150,000 of each souvenir sheet. Designer Choon Whan Kang; Government Printing Agency; lithography; stamps perforated 13½.
