Series history

Libya issued stamps for the Third Philia — a patrol leaders' camp and the third scouts' meeting at Tripoli — on 13 July 1962. The ordinary postage trio shows a scout salute beneath the palm fleur-de-lis (5 m), four scouts linked under the emblem (10 m), and the emblem over tents by moonlight (15 m). The same three designs exist imperforate. An imperforate souvenir sheet gathering 20, 30 and 50 millième designs of handshake, scouts and camp (total face 100 m) completes the issue under the heading Third Philia.

Print runs are given as 500,000 of each perforated value and 50,000 souvenir sheets. Designers Tarak Sedghy, Abdul Muttalub and Omran Salah; Helio Courvoisier; photogravure; perforated 12.
