Series history
On 27 July 1964 Haiti released at Port-au-Prince four surcharged values of the 1962 Scout anniversary designs for the IX Winter Olympic Games at Innsbruck. Each stamp was revalued to 0.50 + 0.10 gourde (postage plus charity surtax) over the original 3, 5, 10 and 25 centime faces: a gold fleur-de-lis on black, a scout saluting at camp, portraits of Lord and Lady Baden-Powell, and a blue fleur-de-lis on maroon. The overprints name the Winter Games and Innsbruck and add the Olympic rings — in red on the 3 c and 10 c, in black on the 5 c and 25 c. Print run 25,000 of each. Base stamps printed by Harrison & Sons Ltd, London, in photogravure; perforated 14 × 14½ or 14½ × 14 according to format.
