Notes
Green map of Jamaica with the Guide trefoil and dates 1915–1965
Series history
Jamaica issued two photogravure commemoratives at Kingston on 17 May 1965 for the golden jubilee of the Girl Guides of Jamaica, marking fifty years from 1915. Harrison & Sons designed and printed the stamps in panes of sixty on paper watermarked with a multiple J and pineapple. The 3 pence, perforated 14 × 14½, shows a green map of Jamaica with the Guide trefoil and the dates 1915 and 1965 under the banners GIRL GUIDES OF JAMAICA and GOLDEN JUBILEE. The 1 shilling is a green triangle bearing the Guide trefoil among smaller trefoil outlines, inscribed GIRL GUIDES · GOLDEN JUBILEE 1915–1965; it is perforated 14. The issue was withdrawn from sale on 16 August 1965.
