Sharjah Girl Guides 2 R with black KHOR FAKKAN overprint in English and Arabic
Series history
Khor Fakkan, a dependency of Sharjah on the Gulf of Oman, released two overprinted commemoratives on 20 March 1965 honouring its Scouts and Guides. Black overprints in English and Arabic reading KHOR FAKKAN were applied to the 2 Gulf-rupee values of Sharjah's 1964 Girl Guides and Boy Scouts issues — Guides marching, and a Scout portrait against a fleur-de-lis ground — both printed by Harrison and Sons by photogravure and perforated 14 × 15. The pair forms part of a larger Khor Fakkan overprint series on Sharjah stamps. Postal status of the issue is disputed among sources.
