Notes
Red inverted triangle with the association emblem — a white fleur-de-lis in a green crescent — on a yellow field; dates 1936 and 1966; bilingual anniversary legend.
Series history
Algeria issued two commemoratives on 23 July 1966 — with first-day sale at Algiers, Oran, Laghouat and Constantine — marking the thirtieth anniversary of the Algerian Muslim Scouts (Scouts Musulmans Algériens, founded in 1936) and the 7th Arab Boy Scout Jamboree.
The 0.30 dinar shows the association's emblem, a white fleur-de-lis set in a green crescent, on a red inverted triangle against a yellow field, with the dates 1936 and 1966 and the bilingual anniversary inscription. The 1.00 dinar carries a gold fleur-de-lis with a palm tree in its centre above purple wings and a map of the Arab world, on a field of crescents and stars, inscribed VIIe JAMBOREE ARABE 1966.
Mohammed Bouzid designed both values. Delrieu printed them in photogravure, perforated 12 × 12½, in panes of 25.
