Series history
Hungary issued a 60 fillér commemorative on 7 June 1966 for the twentieth anniversary of the Magyar Úttörők Szövetsége, the Hungarian Pioneers Federation founded in 1946. Nagy Zoltán designed the horizontal stamp: a smiling girl Pioneer in a red neckerchief holding white flowers, beside a violet anniversary panel with a large 20, the years 1946 and 1966, and the inscription éves a Magyar Úttörők Szövetsége. The Pioneer emblem and a small campfire motif appear with the numeral. MAGYAR POSTA and the designer’s credit NAGY Z. run along the foot.
The State Printing Works in Budapest printed the stamp in offset lithography, comb perforated 12 × 12½, size 45 × 35 mm, in light blue-violet and red-lilac. The perforated printing ran to 3,560,000; an imperforate form was issued in a run of 2,572. The stamps remained valid for postage until 31 December 1967.
