Olive-green field with a brown Scout fleur-de-lis containing the Kuwaiti dhow emblem, inside a rope frame tied in a reef knot; bilingual legend «Scout Movement in Kuwait 1936–1966».

Series history

Kuwait issued two commemorative stamps on 21 December 1966 for the thirtieth anniversary of the Scout Movement in Kuwait, founded in 1936. Both values share one design: a Scout fleur-de-lis bearing the national dhow emblem at its centre, framed by a rope border tied in a reef knot at the foot, with bilingual legends reading «Scout Movement in Kuwait 1936–1966». The 4 fils is printed in olive-green and brown; the 20 fils in ochre with a blue-grey fleur-de-lis.

Joh. Enschedé & Sons printed the set by lithography, perforated 14 × 13, in panes of 50. One hundred thousand copies of each value were produced.
