Series history

Manama, a dependency of Ajman, issued six stamps and an imperforate souvenir sheet on 25 October 1967 for the 12th World Scout Jamboree held in Idaho, U.S.A., in August 1967. The set was printed by typography and released both comb perforated 12½ and imperforate, in panes of twenty-five. Designer and printer are not established. The three lower values (30 dh, 70 dh and 1 r) are ordinary postage; the 2 r, 3 r and 4 r, and the 5 r souvenir sheet, are inscribed AIR MAIL. The postal status of the issue is disputed.

The designs are a portrait of Robert Baden-Powell with the years 1857 and 1941 (30 dh and 1 r); a Scout bugler before camp tents (70 dh and 3 r); a map of the United States with a star over Idaho, a Scout fleur-de-lis and doves (2 r and 4 r); and, on the souvenir sheet, the jamboree emblem set against the United States flag.
