Two Scouts in uniform raise a white triangular pennant above orange campfire flames; a circular emblem with a white flower on blue, framed by laurel, sits at upper left; faint Scout figures in the background.

Series history

Algeria issued a single commemorative on 4 July 1968 for the 8th Arab Scout Jamboree, held in Algiers. Bachir Yelles designed the stamp; the French Stamp Printing Office printed it by photogravure in panes of twenty-five, comb perforated 13, in the format 26 × 40 mm, without watermark. The print run was 1,000,000. The stamp remained on sale until 6 November 1971.

The design shows two Scouts in uniform raising a white triangular pennant above stylised campfire flames, with a circular emblem — a white flower on a blue field framed by laurel — at upper left and faint Scout figures behind. The stamp is inscribed 8e JAMBOREE ARABE - ALGER 1968 and valued at 0.30 dinar.
