Notes
Scout salute hand ringed by national flags. Inscribed XII WORLD JAMBOREE 1967; printer imprint Brüder Rosenbaum, Vienna.
Series history
Sharjah and Dependencies issued ten commemoratives and two souvenir sheets on 12 February 1968 for the 12th World Scout Jamboree held in Idaho in 1967. Brüder Rosenbaum of Vienna printed the set by offset lithography, perforated 14, with a stated quantity of 8,000 of each value; the stamps also exist imperforate. The designs show a scout salute among flags, a salute among emblems, a fleur-de-lis over mountains, a kettle over a campfire, and a flag parade with a portrait of Baden-Powell; the higher values are inscribed for airmail. The two souvenir sheets, issued imperforate only, repeat the campfire and flag-parade designs. The postal necessity of the issue is disputed.
