Series history
Sharjah issued two Scout designs on 10 July 1970 among a set of ten commemoratives for international events that year. Samir Ghantous designed the stamps; they were printed by offset lithography, comb perforated 12½, measuring 51 × 28 mm, without watermark. The printer is not established. Both values show a Scout signalling with two flags on a hillside, with another Scout signalling in the distance; a yellow side panel is lettered INTERNATIONAL EVENTS 1970 and JAMBOREE. The 1 dirham is ordinary postage; the 2 riyal is an airmail, its panel lettered AIR MAIL and showing a Sharjah 1st Jamboree emblem. An imperforate printing of both values was issued alongside. Printed quantities are given as 10,000 of each value. Postal standing of the issue is not settled.
