Gold souvenir sheet with a 4 r portrait of Olave Baden-Powell in Guide uniform, vignettes of the England, Italy, France, Holland and Germany Scouts, and a fleur-de-lis lettered AIR MAIL.
Series history
Sharjah issued sheetlets of six on 6 July 1971 showing uniformed Scouts of European associations for the 13th World Scout Jamboree. Ordinary postage (grey panel lettered POSTAGE) covers England, Italy, France, Holland and Germany at 2 to 6 dirhams; matching airmails (gold panel lettered AIR MAIL) run 35 dirhams to 3 riyals. The same designs exist perforated 14 and imperforate. Two souvenir sheets with simulated perforations show Olave Baden-Powell among vignettes of the five Scouts; one is lettered POSTAGE and the other AIR MAIL. Brüder Rosenbaum of Vienna printed the issue in lithography. Postal standing is unsettled.
