Series history
Iraq issued two commemorative stamps at Baghdad on 24 August 1972 for the 4th Arab Guides Camp and Conference at Mosul. The stamps themselves give the meeting dates as 24 to 30 August 1972. Younis Mohammed Al Abdulla designed the pair; the German Security Printing Office in West Germany printed it by photogravure in panes of 25, comb perforation 13½ × 14. Fifty thousand copies of each value were printed.
Both stamps show two circular vignettes. The left circle has a Guide in a brown beret and uniform in profile, with tents and palms and a kneeling figure on the grass. The right circle is a chain-bordered emblem with a map of the Arab world, a palm and a Guide trefoil. The 10 fils is on yellow; the 45 fils is on teal. Each is inscribed IRAQ, POSTAGE, and 4th ARAB GUIDES CAMP AND CONFERENCE.
