Series history
Niger issued four airmail commemoratives at Niamey on 21 March 1973 for the Boy Scouts of Niger. Pierre Forget designed the set; the stamps are inscribed REPUBLIQUE DU NIGER, POSTE AERIENNE, scoutisme and 1973. The 25 f shows a Scout listening on a handheld radio, with a radio camp, camels and tents behind, and is signed FORGET 1973. The 50 f shows Scouts bandaging a head wound and carrying a stretcher, with a red cross, and is signed BEQUET. The 100 f shows a Scout offering a bowl of water to a gazelle, and is signed FORGET. The 150 f shows two Scout profiles with a gazelle, a sunburst, fish in a band of water and a bird in cupped hands. The French Stamp Printing Office printed the set by recess, comb perforated 13.
