Series history

Lebanon issued ten airmail stamps on 5 November 1974. Eight values are inscribed 11ème JAMBOREE ARABE DU SCOUTISME and SMAR-JUBEIL-LIBAN AOUT 1974. The 15 and 20 piastres are inscribed Vème JAMBOREE ARABE DES GUIDES-DEIR-EL-KAMAR-LIBAN 1974. Each stamp is lettered POSTE AERIENNE and LIBAN. The set was printed by offset lithography, perforated 12, se-tenant in vertical strips. One hundred thousand copies of each value were printed. Sources give no designer or printer.

The 2½ piastres shows a fleur-de-lis camp-fire over a campsite plan. The 5 piastres a cedar emblem and a map of Lebanon. The 7½ piastres a map of Arab states between cedar and Scout emblems. The 10 piastres a portrait of Baden-Powell before columned ruins. The 15 piastres a Girl Guide saluting, with tents. The 20 piastres two trefoil-and-cedar emblems in a rope figure-eight. The 25 piastres Scouts around a night camp-fire. The 30 piastres a globe with the Lebanese flag and a cedar emblem. The 35 piastres an arc of national flags. The 50 piastres an elder watching a Scout split a log.
