Series history

Mexico issued an 80 centavo commemorative on 24 August 1976. The stamp is inscribed CORREOS MEXICO and 1926 - 1976 RECONOCIMIENTO DE LA ASOCIACION DE SCOUTS DE MEXICO. It is upright, 21 × 37 mm, in olive and red-brown. An olive campaign hat with a brown band occupies the centre. Above it a Scout fleur-de-lis carries two stars and the motto SIEMPRE LISTO. Rafael Davidson designed the stamp; it is signed R. DAVIDSON. The Taller de Impresión de Estampillas y Valores (T.I.E.V.) printed it in photogravure on phosphorescent paper, comb perforated 14¼ × 14, in panes of 50. Two million copies were printed. The year 1976 and the imprint T.I.E.V. appear in the lower margin.
