Series history

The Philippines issued a single 30-sentimo commemorative at Manila on 28 December 1977 for the sixth national Boy Scout jamboree. The stamp is landscape, inscribed Pilipinas and 30s, with two gold medallions on a green woven ground.

Antonio Chuidian designed it. The APO Production Unit of NEDA printed it by offset lithography, comb perforated 12½, in panes of 50, in a printing of 1,000,000.

The left medallion shows a woman in a headscarf and a Scout in uniform, lettered KAPATIRANG SCOUT NG PILIPINAS and 1977. The right medallion shows a map of the Philippines marked Isabela, Cebu and Davao, with a Scout fleur-de-lis, lettered 1977 NATIONAL JAMBOREE and DEC. 28, 1977 – JAN. 5, 1978. Below the medallions the stamp repeats KAPATIRANG SCOUT NG PILIPINAS, 1977 NATIONAL JAMBOREE • ISABELA-CEBU-DAVAO, and DECEMBER 28, 1977 — JANUARY 5, 1978.
