Series history
Liberia issued fifty commemoratives at Monrovia on 1 September 1979 for the fiftieth anniversary of Scouting in the country. The designs reproduce Boy Scouts of America calendar paintings by Norman Rockwell, dated from 1925 to 1976. Format International Security Printers printed the set by offset lithography, without watermark, 39 × 52 mm, in panes of fifty. The stamps are comb perforated; published gauges differ between 11 and 11½. Each stamp is inscribed LIBERIA and the face value in the lower margin, with the artist's name in the picture.
