Series history
The Philippines issued two stamps on 26 May 1980, inscribed 40 YEARS OF GIRL SCOUTING, for the fortieth anniversary of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines. Both values share one design: the association's gold-outlined trefoil, lettered G, S and P around a shield of the Philippine flag, flanked by 1940 and 1980. Girl Scouts in green uniform appear at the corners — one standing with a staff, one painting, one carrying a woven basket, and one planting. The stamps are lettered PILIPINAS. Offset lithography by the APO Production Unit, NEDA, line perforated 12½, 41 × 31 mm, in panes of fifty, on paper watermarked with a multiple K and P. Two million of the 30 sentimo and one million of the 2 piso were printed. First-day offices were Tagaytay City and Lucena City. The same design exists imperforate. The designer is not established.
