History
Thailand issued a single commemorative on 21 November 1977 for the 9th National Scout Jamboree. The stamp is landscape, 48 × 30 mm, inscribed 9th NATIONAL JAMBOREE, 1977, THAILAND, with ประเทศไทย and THAILAND at the foot and 75 สต. ST. POSTAGE at the lower right.
Prance Nimsamur designed the stamp. Joh. Enschedé printed it by photogravure, comb perforated 11 × 13, in panes of 50, on paper watermarked with a multiple JEZ, upright. The quantity is 2,000,000.
At left, King Bhumibol Adulyadej appears in a tan Scout Leader uniform, glasses and a pink neckerchief, before the Thai flag and a yellow map of Thailand; Thai lettering sits under the portrait. At right, five Scouts sit around a night camp-fire in front of A-frame tents. A white tiger-head Scout fleur-de-lis is at the upper right; an axe is set in a log in the foreground.
