Series history

Afghanistan issued eight Boy Scout Service stamps at Kabul on 25 October 1962, sold only on the day of issue. Assadullah Safi's design shows a scout in forage cap and neckerchief beside the fleur-de-lis in a wreath, with the bilingual inscription Boy Scout 1962. Ordinary postage values are 1, 2, 3 and 4 puls; airmails are 25, 50, 75 and 100 puls. The same eight designs exist imperforate.

Print runs are given as 400,000 of each postage value and 20,000 of each airmail. Austrian State Printing Office; photogravure; perforated 12.
