Notes

The Girl Guides Association of Colombia(AGSC), founded in 1936, member of the World Association of Girl Scouts, are inspired by Olave Saint Clair Soames, the wife of Baden-Powell. While Scouting in Colombia became coeducational especially since the decade of the 80 of the twentieth century, the AGSC continues to be an exclusive scouting option for girls and young people with training programs and dignifying women.

Series history

Colombia issued five values at Bogotá on 26 July 1962 for the thirtieth anniversary of the Scouts of Colombia (1931–1961) and the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Girl Scouts of Colombia (1936–1961). Two designs by Mosdóssy share the set: boy scouts around a campfire by tents, used on the 10 centavo ordinary postage stamp (inscribed Correos), the 15 centavo airmail and the 1 peso Extra-rápido; and a group of Girl Scouts with the Guide trefoil, used on the 40 centavo and 1 peso airmails.

Print runs are given as 1,000,000 of the 10 c, 40 c and 1 peso airmail; 500,000 of the 15 c; and 100,000 of the 1 peso Extra-rápido. Austrian State Printers; photogravure; perforated 11½ × 12.
