Series history

Anguilla issued four offset-lithographed stamps on 10 August 1970 for the fortieth anniversary of Scouting. John Lister Ltd designed the set; Alden & Mowbray Ltd of Oxford printed it in panes of twenty-five, comb perforated 13¾, without watermark. The 10 cents shows a map of Anguilla with the association badge and a compass rose, a flag at The Valley; the 15 cents Cub Scouts practising first aid at a camp; the 40 cents Scouts on a monkey bridge; the 50 cents Lord Baden-Powell beside Scout Headquarters, The Valley. The stamps are inscribed 40th. ANNIVERSARY OF SCOUTING.
