Series history
Ajman issued the Baden-Powell airmail value of a Personalities and Their Zodiac Signs series on 16 March 1971. The 90 dirham stamp shows a portrait of Lord Baden-Powell in campaign hat and Scout neckerchief, a gold fleur-de-lis at the shoulder, the word PISCES set vertically, and the caption LORD BADEN-POWELL FEBRUARY 22nd, 1857, with AJMAN in gold on the lower margin. It is the Scout-relevant stamp of a larger set that pairs famous people with zodiac signs; the other values are not Scout designs. Photogravure, perforated 13½; an imperforate printing exists. A souvenir sheet inscribed 3 riyals places the 90 dirham portrait beside a 60 dirham stained-glass Pisces from Notre-Dame, Paris, with simulated perforations. Designer and printer are not established. Postal standing of the issue is unsettled.
