Series history
Ghana overprinted its January stamps for the 14th World Scout Jamboree for INTERPHIL 76, the international philatelic exhibition held in Philadelphia. The overprint, in blue, reads INTERPHIL 76 / BICENTENNIAL / EXHIBITION. The set was issued at Accra on 29 May 1976. Format International Security Printers had printed the base stamps by offset lithography, 49 × 33 mm, comb perforated 13¾. The bases still read 1975 and 14th. WORLD SCOUT JAMBOREE-NORWAY.
The four pane values are the 7 pesewa Map reading, the 30 pesewa Sailing, the 60 pesewa The Hike, and the 1 cedi Life-saving. The souvenir sheet, 133 × 100 mm, carries the same four designs at 15, 40, 65 and 80 pesewas, each with the same overprint, on a yellow-gold margin headed 14th. WORLD SCOUT JAMBOREE NORWAY and footed GHANA. The four pane values also exist imperforate.
