Series history

Thailand issued a 75 satang commemorative on 28 February 1981, lettered INTERNATIONAL YEAR FOR DISABLED PERSONS 1981, THAILAND and 75 ST. POSTAGE, with the same wording in Thai. Prakai Sangamuang designed it. Joh. Enschedé printed 5,000,000 copies by offset lithography, comb perforated 13 × 11, 30 × 48 mm, in panes of 50, on paper with a JEZ multiple watermark. It is the Scout value of a two-stamp issue; the set was also sold in a booklet as a strip of ten, perforated on all sides.

The design shows a Scout in a tan uniform standing on a ramp, looking down toward a boy who walks up on a crutch, wearing a white shirt and a dark prosthetic on one leg. The Year emblem — two figures in a wreath — sits at the upper left.
